QUETTA, Aug 28: A Balochistan High Court division bench has described the changes in the policies of Pakistan Telecommunication Company (PTCL) Board of Governors by the recruitment director of the company as illegal and unlawful.
The bench comprising Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and Justice Ahmed Khan Lashari here the other day uphold the submissions of petitioner Zahid Rafiq, a PTCL assistant divisional engineer of Quetta. Mr Rafiq had challenged the unilateral decision of the director of recruitment.
The petitioner pleaded that the board of governors at its meeting in Islamabad in November 2002 had regularized the procedures adopted in 1996 to differentiate between the engineers holding the BSc degree and diploma for promotions and appointments in 17 grade.
Mr Rafiq prayed that the steps taken by the director bypassing the supreme decision-making body be declared as null and void.
