PESHAWAR, Aug 27: The NWFP Services Tribunal has dismissed appeals of former controller and manager of the Government Printing Press, Peshawar and upheld their removal from the posts they were entrusted with.

The member of the tribunal, Major (retd) Attaullah Khan observed that before removing the two appellants, the government had adopted proper legal formalities.

The ex-controller, Jawed Iqbal and ex-manager, Rao Abdul Aziz were removed from their services after it was proved that they were involved in the disappearance of paper worth Rs5 million from the printing press.

The case came into notice in August 2000, following which the then secretary law department, Saleem Khan was appointed the inquiry officer of the case.

The inquiry proved that Mr Iqbal and Mr Aziz were involved in the disappearance of the paper from the press.

The appellants challenged their removal before the tribunal, claiming that they were implicated in the case and had not committed the offence.
