DADU: Two breaches flood villages, crops

DADU, Aug 27: Two villages and crops over 400 acres of land were inundated after two breaches occurred in Kakole Wah and main drain near Mehar town on Wednesday.

The Kakole Wah developed a 60-foot-wide breach near Kunar village while another breach occurred in the main drain near Mehar town.

Yaqoob Machhi and Kunar villages and 400 acres of cultivated land, including 100 acres of land owned by federal minister for industries and production Liaquat Ali Jatoi, were inundated by the floodwaters.

Ten houses were collapsed in both the villages.

The breaches were not plugged till the filing of this report.

STRIKE: A shutter-down strike was observed in Bhan Saeedabad on Wednesday on the call of shopkeepers to protest against the rising crime in the town.

All main bazaars remained closed on the occasion.

The Activists of the JSQM, JSM, PPP-SB, PPP and SDA also staged a rally in the town and marched on the main roads. They raised slogans against the police and alleged they were supporting criminals.
