Growers demand water

MIRPURKHAS, Aug 26: Growers of Samaro, Kunri, Kot Ghulam Mohammad, Pithoro, Digri and Mirpurkhas talukas have demanded that the Sindh government should take notice of water shortage at tail-ends of distributaries.

Talking to journalists on Tuesday, Aijaz Panhwar, Sadiq Shar, Akbar Khan and Asghar Channa said the office-bearers of the farmers’ organizations were involved in water theft.

They said action should be taken against the office-bearers involved in tampering with watercourses

INQUIRY: Taking notice of a complaint regarding occupation of an amenity plot in Rehmania Colony, the Sindh ombudsman has directed the district Nazim to hold an inquiry into the matter.

The district Nazim appointed the DCO for the inquiry.
