As many as 2,977 candidates, including 1,037 females, were registered for examinations, while 2,935 appeared and 878 were declared to have passed the examination. Pass percentage of female candidates was 42.41, while percentage of male candidates remained as 23.63.
Top three positions were bagged by female students of three government and one private colleges, with two candidates sharing third position.
Three students of the PECHS Government College for Women - Maria Shamim, d/o Shamim Ahmad, Nausheen Riaz Mir, d/o of Riaz Mahmood and Summaya Larik, d/o Shaukat Ali Larik -got first, second and third positions respectively. Muzna Rashid Hussain, d/o Shaikh Rashid Hussain of DHA Degree College for Women was also placed third.
In all 81 colleges and higher secondary schools sent up candidates for examinations. Results of 12 educational institutions remained zero per cent.
The breakdown of successful candidates is: A-1 grade, 1 male and 13 female (0.48%), A grade, 24 male and 95 female (4.05%), B grade, 95 male and 162 female (8.76%), C Grade, 3195 male and 144 female (11.55%), D Grade, 129 male and 16 female (4.94%) and E grade, 3 male only (0.10%).
Results of six students were withheld for their alleged indulgence in unfair means during examinations, while another 19 results were withheld for want of correct information and necessary documents, said a BIE notification.
