Alternative routes for traffic ordered

LAHORE, Aug 22: Punjab Education Minister Imran Masood has stressed the need for provision of alternative routes for traffic diverted from The Mall to ensure its smooth flow after the opening of schools from Monday.

In letters written to the Punjab chief secretary and DIG (traffic), the minister said the existing diversion plan needed a review because it had failed to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

Traffic muddle on Jail Road, Davis Road, Racecourse Road and Zafar Ali Road is likely to become worse from Monday when schools will reopen after summer vacation.
