HANGU, Aug 22: Local councillors have decided that they will resign from the union councils if the Nazims continue not to involve them in development activities in the region.
Speaking at a convention of local bodies’ members held at Doaba rest house here on Friday, the councillors criticized the union and district Nazims for having a negative attitude towards the councillors.
The convention was addressed by councillors Abdul Wahid Orakzai, Noor Habib, Malik Essa Gul, Haji Sarmad Khan, Zakria Khan and some other leaders.
They denied the charges levelled against them of pressurizing the district government, saying they would stand united to get their just rights. They criticized the language used by some Nazims against the councillors.
The councillors also decided that they would hold another convention on Aug 31 and form various committees to make it a success.
