GUJRANWALA, Aug 21: The Wahando SHO was transferred reportedly for registering a theft case on Thursday against Tasmia Nazir, wife of prime minister’s adviser Rana Nazir Ahmed.

A joint team of the army and Gepco conducted a raid on the outhouse of Rana Nazir in Wahando on Wednesday. The raiding team found Rana Nazir stealing electricity for his 13 servant quarters, a fish farm, two tubewells, a fodder cutter and other agricultural machinery. The raiding team also removed two three phase and one single phase meters besides other equipment.

The theft incident was reported to the police for legal action. The power supply was being stolen directly from main supply lines after tampering with meters.

It is learnt that Rashid Sindhu has been deputed as Wahando SHO in place of Shahbaz Cheema. The FIR has also been sealed.

ALLOCATED: The Health department has allocated Rs30 million for the provision of better health care facilities to patients in urban and rural areas.

This was stated by district officer (Health) Dr Saeedullah in a briefing here on Thursday.

He pointed out that around 88 BHUs, 10 RHCs and five dispensaries were being run in the district while 15 municipal and 19 district dispensaries had been established last year.

He claimed that mobile teams were providing health facilities to people at their doorstep.

A rashly-driven jeep hit Muhammad Suleman near his house in Gulzar Colony. Suleman, who was returning from school, died on the spot.

The residents of the area gathered there and set the jeep on fire. The vehicle reduced to ashes in a few minutes.
