More rains forecast

ISLAMABAD, Aug 19: The heavy rain which lashed Islamabad on Monday night broke a long humid spell and turned the weather pleasant.

According to a report of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), 61mm rain was recorded in Islamabad and the rate of humidity on Tuesday was 75 per cent against 92 per cent on Monday.

The maximum temperature on Tuesday was 30 degrees centigrade. The PMD forecast more rains in various parts of the country, including Islamabad, during the next 24 hours. After an interval of two weeks, the monsoon currents have become active again as a result of which rains will occur in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, NWFP and Kashmir, the report added.—Staff Reporter
