ISLAMABAD, Aug 17: The interior ministry has given approval to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to sack its 23 officials under the Removal of Services Ordinance (RSO)-2000 for committing irregularities during last two years, a source told Dawn on Sunday.

Those who will face the action include director Ikramullah Khan; deputy directors Najeebur Rehman, Saleh Mohammad; assistant directors Tesleem Khan, Fawad Ahmed, Mohammad Ashraf, Badarul Rashid, Arif Shah, Hassan Butt, Mohammad Yasin; account officers Naveed Lutab Khan, Naveedul Hassan, Amin Jan; cashiers Fazaldad, Arshad; clerks Amant, Jehanzeb and Rehman.

The source said the illegalities had been detected by a four-member committee formed by the newly appointed member engineering. The committee report was sent to the interior ministry, seeking approval for action against the officials concerned.

The committee had reportedly found Rs182 million irregularities in the services wing of the authority, the source said. He said show-cause notices had been served on those found involved in irregularities.

He said most of the 23 officials were accused of executing additional uplift work without approval of the higher authorities.
