MUZAFFARABAD, Aug 12: A boy was killed and two others were wounded in the Poonch district of Azad Kashmir on Tuesday in unprovoked Indian shelling from across the Line of Control, police said.
The casualties occurred in Jawara village in Hajira sector where shelling began at 2:10pm without any provocation during which Indian troops used both small and heavy arms.
Khurram, 11, son of Abdul Aziz, was killed on the spot after being hit by a shrapnel of a shell and his brother, Faisal, 13, and a neighbour Nabeel, 11, son of Fateh Mohammad, were critically injured and later admitted to Civil Hospital, Hajira.
Police said the Indian troops also targeted nearby villages of Darra Sher Khan, Battal and Natir in Hajira sector but no losses were reported.
