KARACHI, Aug 9: Federal Minister for Health Mohammed Naseer Khan called on Chief Minister Ali Mohammed Mahar at the CM House here on Saturday and handed over seven truckloads of medicines worth Rs2 million and three truckloads of food items — atta, pulses, sugar, etc. — for distribution among the rain-affected people in Sindh.

Mr Khan informed the CM that the consignment contained anti-malaria medicines, anti-snake bite vaccine, anti-mosquito spray chemicals and insecticides which were essentially required in the affected areas.

He appreciated Mr Mahar for paying frequent visits to the rain and flood hit areas to ensure proper relief operations there.

The minister held out the assurance that the federal government, would acquire assistance from international organizations and agencies for the affected people of Sindh.

Mr Mahar thanked the Centre, especially the federal ministry of health, for providing relief goods.—APP/PPI
