KARACHI Aug 9: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has slammed institution of a case against Orangi Town Nazim Shahid Islam terming it an act of vengeance by one of the coalition parties of the Sindh government.

In a statement issued on Saturday, jointly by Sindh PPP President Nisar Ahmad Khuro, Karachi division President Muzaffar Shujra and other office-bearers, it was alleged that on one hand those involved in cases of heinous nature and carrying head money were pardoned, while on the other, fake cases were being instituted against the elected town Nazims, particularly those hailing from the Awam Dost Panel.

The leaders blamed the advisor to Sindh chief minister on home affairs for becoming a party in the whole affair, while alleging that chief minister had played silent spectator.

They demanded of the government to give free hand to Mr Islam to work with devotion for the welfare of the town and its inhabitants.—PPI
