JSQM leader acquitted

THATTA, Aug 6: The district and sessions Judge Qamaruddin Bohra here on Wednesday acquitted Bashir Khan Qureshi, chairman Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, and others in a sedition case.

The case against them was lodged at the Ghora Bari police station on Oct 17, 1986 under section 123-A and 153-A and challaned on Mar 28, 1994.

It was charged that the accused had delivered anti-state speeches on the occasion of the death anniversary of JSQM worker, Malik Khushik.

The co-accused Sarwar Khushik, Ali Akbar Shah and Hafiz Mohammad Iqbal have also been acquitted giving them benefit of doubt.

Sixteen others are still absconders in the case.
