PESHAWAR, Aug 6: NWFP Health Minister Inayatullah Khan has said that efforts are under way to evolve an effective strategy to involve private sector to provide a better health delivery system to the people under the public-private partnership.
Mr Khan said this during a visit to the Fatmid Foundation here on Tuesday where he was briefed by the administrator of the foundation about the services being provided to the needy patients at the centre.
The minister was informed that the centre, established in 1988, had been providing services to 4,252 registered patients, out of which 3,337 were suffering from thalessaemia.
He conceded that due to financial constraints provision of complete free service was not possible for the government.
“The government is encouraging NGOs to come forward and help in extending health-care facilities to the people,” he said.
