KARACHI: PIA chalked up a thrilling last-ball victory by four wickets against Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in their fourth Naya Nazimabad Karachi Kings Ramazan Cup T20 Cricket Tournament at the Lawai Cricket Stadium on late on Wednesday night.
Scores were tied at 134 when Mohammad Ibrahim faced the final delivery; the tailender, however, kept his cool by striking a boundary to help PIA get over the line.
But it was the experienced Shaharyar Ghani who was instrumental in steering his side PIA to victory with an unbeaten knock of 39 in 33 balls laced with four boundaries.
Majid Khan contributed 34 from 27 deliveries spiced with one six and three boundaries and Faisal Iqbal made 25 after facing 31 balls and striking three fours.
Ashar Qureshi produced a fine all-round show but his heroics failed to save CAA from defeat. He slammed 39off 33 balls with six boundaries and one six.
Later Ashar also took two wickets for 18 runs.
PIA left-arm spinner Ghulam Muhammad captured three wickets for 16 runs and was named man-of-the-match. He received the award from former Pakistan batsman and ex-national selector Shoaib Mohammad.
