BAGRAM AIR BASE, Aug 1: US forces killed up to four Taliban or Al Qaeda fighters during a clash in southern Afghanistan while Afghan troops unearthed a massive ammunition dump, a military spokesman said on Friday.

“An estimated four anti-coalition fighters were killed last night (Thursday) after a larger group fired on Special Operations Forces on patrol north of Kandahar,” Lt Col Douglas Lefforge told reporters at Bagram air base.—AFP
