LAHORE, Aug 1: Judicial work at subordinate courts remained suspended on Friday after the lawyers boycotted courts to protest against civil judge Sheharyar Bukhari’s death.
The strike call had a little impact on the Lahore High Court as most of its benches were closed due to summer vacation, starting on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court Bar Association held a condolence reference to mourn the death of the judge. It also adopted a resolution against the sending of troops to Iraq, and expressed apprehensions that the decision would create hatred against Pakistan among the Gulf states.
Later, the LHCBA staged a rally for the early arrest of Gujranwala DIG Malik Mohammed Iqbal and his trial on murder charges.— Reporter
