Grievances redressed

LAHORE, Aug 1: On the orders of the Punjab ombudsman, the Kasur and Sahiwal DCOs have redressed the grievances of complainants regarding financial aid from the Benevolent Fund.

Mumtaz Begum said her husband was an employee in the Highways Department who died in 1992. She said she had applied for the financial assistance from the BF, but her application was not processed.

In another case, Salma Bibi, the widow of Rashid Ahmad, said the department had stopped payment of monthly grant to her from the BF without any reason. She said she had approached the authorities concerned, but to no avail.

The ombudsman directed the Kasur and Sahiwal DCOs to look into the matter. After going through the cases, they reported to the ombudsman that the grievances had been redressed. — Reporter
