Two jail officials sent on remand

SIALKOT, Aug 1: A special magistrate-cum-civil judge on Friday granted a 10-day physical remand of two accused jail assistant superintendents to the Civil Lines police in a Sialkot jail tragedy case.

Sources said that both the accused — Raja Mushtaq and Ghulam Sarwar — were produced before court amid tight security. They were also accompanied by the special investigation team of the Punjab IGP.

Now, the accused would be produced again before court on Aug 11.

Sources said the police had requested court for at least 10-day physical remand of the accused.
