LAHORE: Pakistan junior girls netball team left on Thursday for South Korea to take part in the 10th Asian Youth Girls Netball Champion­ship to be played at Jeonju from May 6-13.

“The weeklong activity is being participated by Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Japan, Thailand, Brunei, Chinese Taipei, The Philippines, the UAE, Nepal, India, Pakistan and hosts South Korea,” said a spokesman for the Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) here Thursday.

Kashia Asif leads the side while Asmat Rehmat is her deputy with other members of the team being Sonia Shah, Aneta Yaseen, Rozeena Ajaz, Laila Fareed, Ayesha, Hurania Sajjad, Sahar Gul and Sana Ajaz.

Yusra Shoaib and Romeesa Yousaf are stand-by players while Nayab Razia is the coach of the team whose manager is Mohammad Rizwan.

The PNF official said Pakistan junior team was in a good shape and was likely to produce good performance in the competition.

“Best possible training was imparted to the players at a camp under the watchful eyes of experienced coaches and we are confident that they will live up to expectations,” he said.
