Yar Mohammad, 26, was electrocuted when he came in contact with an electric pole while wading through knee-deep water in Dhani Bakhsh Goth, Airport. His body could not be shifted to the Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) due to the non-availability of ambulance and traffic jams.

Police said that the body was handed over to his relatives.

An unidentified young man was electrocuted in Jamia Cloth Market area. His body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for postmortem examination.

An unidentified woman, in her mid-40s, was electrocuted in a shanty town, Kausar Niazi Colony, of North Nazimabad.

INJURED: A woman and her five-year-old child were injured when the roof of their house collapsed in Ittefaq Colony, Khokhrapar, on Monday.

A resident of the area, Faqir Mohammad, told Dawn that the roof was made-up of slabs which caved in and caused serious injuries to the two persons. He said that a builder had dug up a four feet deep trench near the house to raise a wall. However, he added, rain water accumulated in it and weakened the foundations of the house.
