KARACHI, Jan 2: Acting chief of the Jamaat-i-Islami Syed Munawwar Hasan said here on Wednesday that he feared that the government’s attitude towards political parties might widen the gulf between the armed forces and the people.
He alleged that the government was acting on an agenda of the Indian and US governments by carrying out such acts and had adopted a tone once used by Indian Prime Minister Vajpayee against religious elements in Pakistan.
He said the US wanted a clash between the armed forces and the masses and alleged that the rulers had come under pressure from the US and India.—PPI
