KARACHI, Jan 2: The chairman, Pakistan Cloth Merchants’ Association (Sindh-Baluchistan zone), Ahmed Chinoy, has called for inclusion of wholesalers, dealers, distributors, investors and retailers in Sales Tax Audit parameters recently announced by the CBR.

In a statement issued to the press on Wednesday, he said cloth and fabric traders are bound to face difficulties, if they are not included in the newly introduced ST audit.

The PCMA zonal chief lauded the joint efforts of the FPCCI and the CBR for laying down the parameters of Sales Tax Audit, which will surely facilitate exporters.

However, Ahmed Chinoy said that some of the categories were left out from these parameters and suggested for their immediately inclusion particularly, wholesalers including dealers, manufacturers-cum-wholesalers, distributors, investors and retailers.

He demanded that CBR should issue SRO in this respect so that outstanding demand is settled once for all and all category of taxpayers are included in the new audit system amicably inked by CBR and FPCCI.

This will result in operational improvement and efficiency of the GST regime and will contain litigation arising out of the situation not covered by the law, he added.
