It was led by local coordinator Jam Bashir Ahmed and former Senator Qazi Muhammad Shahid, who belongs to Imran Khan’s Tehreek-i-Insaaf.
The demonstrators holding placards demanded arrest and speedy conviction of Afsheen Mussarrat’s killers. They also demanded action against DG Khan ASI Muhammed Hanif, who had murdered his two daughters sometimes back.
WARRANTS: A local court on Saturday issued arrest warrants against former Bahawal Victoria Hospital MS and his nephew for not appearing in court.
Widow Ms Jinda Mai had filed a complaint against Dr Shair Muhammad and Shair Anjum for allegedly grabbing her three shops and a plot on Circular Road here. They were also facing contempt of court charges for not suspending construction work on the disputed plot.
The judge fixed the next hearing date on Jan 3, 2004.
BODIES RECOVERED: Bodies of two labourers, who were buried alive in the under-construction well on Friday last, were recovered after a hectic struggle on Saturday.
One of the deceased labourers was identified as Mistri Kaloo while the identity of the other could not be established so far.
