LAHORE, Dec 31: Feroze Gulzar scored four goals, including a hat-trick, to carry Olympia to an emphatic win 6- 3 1/2 over Guard Rice in inaugural match of the Christmas Cup polo tournament at the Lahore Polo Club (LPC) ground Monday.
In another match of the competition, Ahmad Ali Tiwana struck thrice to take Ist Law Company to victory by 5 1/2-3 over Marry Max.
Guard Rice had advantage of half-a-goal on handicap and scored three goals during play as against six put in by Olympia.
Punal Yar scored his only goal and Feroze Gulzar also scored first of his four goals on a field effort during first chukker to give Olympia a lead of 2—1/2 over Guard Rice.
At beginning of second chukker, Jamal Iftikhar scored his only field goal for Olympia while Feroze Gulzar scored his second and on a spot penalty near the goalpost.
Guard Rice scored two back-to-back field goals to reduce the margin to 2 1/2-4 at the start of third chukker. Taimur Malik and Aurangzeb Monnoo scored these goals on field efforts. However, Feroze Gulzar scored his third and Olympia’s fifth goal to further enhance the lead to 5— 2 1/2 before the third chukker concluded.
At start of fourth chukker, Feroze Gulzar converted a 40 yards penalty-hit to complete his hat-trick. Aurangzeb Monnoo scored his second field goal for Guard Rice but his effort fell short of requirement as Olympia won 6—3 1/2.

Syed Hasan Raza Gillani opened scoring for Marry Max by converting a 40 yards penalty-hit atthe beginning of second chukker. Tanvir Tariq scored a field goal for Ist Law Company which led by 1 1/2-1 at conclusion of the second chukker.
Malik Mustafa Tiwana scored Marry Max’s second goal on a 60 yards penalty-hit at start of third chukker. Ist Law Company scored two back-to-back goals through Ahmad Ali Khan to increase Ist Law Company’s lead to 3 1/2-2 before the third chukker ended. Ahmad scored a field goal and later converted a 40 yards penalty-hit.
At beginning of fourth chukker, Hasan Raza scored his second and Marry Max’s third goal, crowning a field effort. But Tanvir Tariq his field goal and Ahmad his third and Ist Law Company’s fifth goal to put the issue beyond doubt. Thus Ist Law Company won 5 1/2-3.
