KARACHI, Dec 8: Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan are expected to touch $500 million mark by end of current fiscal year 2003-2004.
This was stated by the vice chairman, Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Tariq Iqbal Puri while talking to APP here on Monday. “Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan are progressing at a faster pace and are expected to touch $500 million mark this year,” he observed.
He pointed out that Pakistani exports to Afghanistan were estimated at about $350 million last year.
To a question, he said that Pakistani Commercial Counsellor in Kabul has sent his report on Pakistan’s single country exhibition held at Afghan capital in September this year.
Puri said that this report is very encouraging, indicating materialization of some of the orders which were negotiated at this exhibition between the stall holders and Afghan businessmen.—APP
