HYDERABAD, Dec 5: The local chapter of Muttahida Majlis-i- Amal on the appeal of central leadership staged a demonstration outside the press club on Friday against the arrest of the central vice-president of the alliance, Allama Sajid Naqvi.
Speaking on the occasion, Maulana Taj Mohammad Nahiyoon, Shoukat Ali Shaikh, Mohammad Azam Jehangiri, Mustafa Ali Haider, Rao Masood Ali Khan and others demanded release of Allama Naqvi.
They termed the detention a conspiracy to break the MMA and paid tributes to Allama Naqvi for his efforts to create a unity among Muslims.
They demanded that prices of wheat flour should be reduced and ARD president Javed Hashmi be released from the jail.
SNP: The Sindh National Party has announced that the party activists will stage protest sit-ins outside offices of British Petroleum Limited and other multinational companies in Badin district on Dec 15.
In a statement issued on Friday, the party said despite promises, British Petroleum and other oil and gas companies had failed to provide jobs to the local people and pay royalty to the district.
