KARACHI, Dec 4: Sindh chief minister Sardar Ali Mohammad Mahar has said that with the lifting of ban on government jobs, a certain quota would be allocated for workers of Pakistan Muslim League.

Speaking at the inauguration of the renovated PML House on Thursday, he said that he would personally supervise the implementation of the quota.

Besides, in deserving cases, school and college fee of sons and daughters of the PML workers would also be remitted”, he added.

Although the meeting was marred by indiscipline among workers due to inadequate seating arrangements and because of his inaudible speech for want of a loud-speaker, Mr Mahar expressed his full confidence in the party chief, Ch Shujaat Hussain, and said that offices were a trust reposed in by the party and could be taken back. But as a true Muslim Leaguer and a follower of its moto, he would continue to serve the people.

He asked the party workers to make efforts to popularise the party so that in the next elections, it could emerge as a major party.

Responding to questions by newsmen, he said that he was starting his tour to the interior of Sindh from Nawabshah on Dec 8. He said he would be visiting Hyderabad and Dadu as well, and other parts of the province to meet the people, and to have an appraisal about their problems.

He said he would prefer that in his visit to the interior of Sindh, he should be received by the PML office-bearers and not by the officials of the government or ministers.

When his attention was drawn towards his frequent absence from the assembly session, the chief minister said whenever his presence was necessary, he ensures it in the House, otherwise, he was keeping an eye on its proceedings sitting in the assembly chambers where he often remains busy performing important official business.

Earlier, Sahibzada Munir Khan, welcoming the chief minister, expressed gratitude for renovating the PML House from his personal account.
