MARDAN, Dec 1: Unidentified armed men looted Rs24,000 in cash and ornaments from a jewellery shop at the cantonment bazaar here on Sunday.

Gulzar, the goldsmith, told journalists three unidentified armed persons entered his shop and locked them in a room. They collected gold ornaments and Rs 24,000 in cash and fled.

Gulzar said one of the dacoits also beat him when he tried to resist.
