SAN FRANCISCO, Nov 20: A protest rally was held here on Wednesday outside the office of the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) against the yearly re-registration of non-immigrants from 24 Muslim countries with the USCIS.

The rally was called by the American Muslim Voice, a leading American Muslim organization, to protest against the special re- registration.

Re-registration of Pakistani men, who are in the third group, will begin in January.

The US introduced the special registration programme in November last year.
