ISLAMABAD, Nov 11: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Tuesday urged members of parliament not to waste their time on “protest for the sake of protest” and devote their energies for providing a better quality of life to their constituents.

He said this while speaking to federal ministers and MNAs, who called on him separately in his chamber at Parliament House.

The prime minister, while congratulating members of the ruling alliance for running parliament, accused the opposition for hampering the smooth functioning of the same, saying the opposition was not playing its due role.

Among them, who met the prime minister, included Hanif Abbasi, an MNA from Rawalpindi, whose financial interests were hurt when the government sealed pharmaceutical companies, in which the MMA has shares.

Others, who met Mr Jamali, included Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz, Minister for Industries Liaquat Ali Jatoi, and a 10-member group of MNAs from Faisalabad led by Wasim Zafar.

The finance minister discussed matters relating to the launching of ‘Euro Bonds’ with the Prime Minister and sought his approval for the same.
