Demo held against Hesco officials

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Nov 10: A large number of people took out a procession here on Monday against Hesco officials for allegedly taking bribe and implicating consumers in false cases.

The protesters, including journalists, students and activists of the People’s Party Parliamentarians, Pakistan Muslim League-N and the Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party, carried placard and chanted slogans against the SDO, line superintendent and other officials of the company.

Speaking on the occasion, they said the Hesco officials were also issuing detection bills to consumers.

They said the officials removed power meters from houses without any notice to consumers and the meters were installed after the consumers paid detection bills.

The protesters complained that power supply of journalist Farooq Buriro was disconnected without any reason and a case was lodged against him.

They demanded that the Hesco chief should withdraw the cases against consumers, initiate inquiry against the SDO and the line superintendent and suspend them forthwith.

GAS SUPPLY: Residents of the Naushahro Feroze city took out a protest procession against non-supply of gas here on Monday.

The procession started from the Habib Chowk and after marching through different roads ended at the Tharushah bus stop on the National Highway.

The protesters also burnt tyres and blocked the Naushahro Feroze-Tharushah road.

ROBBERY: A tractor, a motorcycle and Rs3,000 cash were looted by unidentified armed robbers in two separate incidents in Kandiaro taluka on Saturday.

Four unidentified armed robbers snatched a tractor (No1805) from its driver near Rohri Canal.

A motorcycle and Rs3,000 cash were looted by three highwaymen from Alan Bhambhro on the National Highway near Halani.

PROTEST: A number of activists of the Pakistan People’s Party (Shaheed Bhutto) took out a procession in Moro on Saturday against the arrest of the party’s Sindh information secretary, Saleem Rajput.

The protesters, after marching on main roads, gathered opposite the Moro Press Club.

Speaking on the occasion, Ali Asghar Almani said that the Qazi Ahmed police had arrested Rajput without any plausible reason.
