KARACHI, Nov 9: Capital City Police Officer Karachi and Additional Inspector General, Asad Ashraf Malik, has stressed the need for community policing in the city, and said that committees comprising police officers of good repute and respected citizens should be formed in this regard.

He expressed these views while addressing a meeting of the high-ups of the Karachi police here on Sunday.

He asked town police officers to take necessary measures in their respective areas to form community policing committees.

The CCPO further directed that popular NGOs be consulted for forming such committees and coordination between these committees and Madadgar 15 be established.— PPI
