Ban on kite flying extended

LAHORE, Nov 2: District Nazim Mian Amer on Sunday extended the ban on kite-flying and production and sale of thread and kites in the city district limits for 60 days.

Justifying the extension in the ban imposed under Section 144 CrPC, the Nazim said it was not aimed at depriving the youth of recreation facilities or imposing curbs on employment opportunities.

The city government wanted to protect the people against the threat posed to their lives by the chemical and glass-coated thread and the electrical installations from being damaged due to short-circuit caused by the wire used for kite flying.
