KARACHI, Oct 28: A dazzling unbeaten knock of 82 by Imran Omar coupled with some fine medium pace bowling by skipper Shoukat Rajput, helped Shaheen Gymkhana to an eight-wicket win over Total Energy CC in the Aga Khan Gymkhana Festival cricket league on Tuesday.

Total Energy were bundled out for 140 runs in 24 overs. Shoukat Rajput was the most successful bowler for Shaheen Gymkhana, claiming four wickets for 28 runs.

Shaheen Gymkhana reached the target losing two wickets in the process.

Imran Omar was in good nick with the willow hammering and unbeaten knock of 82 runs, studded with four sixes and six flowing boundaries. Salman Niazi also batted well in his knock of 43 runs.

Wednesday fixture: Pak Gymkhana meet United Sports at 1.00 p.m.

Pak Gymkhana triumph

A polished unbeaten knock of 58 runs studded with six boundaries and one six by Asif Zakir, enabled Pak Gymkhana register a nine-wicket triumph over Bed & Bath CC in the opening match of the Karachi Gymkhana Festival cricket tournament.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, Bed & Bath were bowled out for 118 scored off 24 overs. Kamil Khan top scored for his side with a fighting knock of 32. Atif Maqbool three for 17, Nasir Khan three for 30 and Yasir Shakaib two for 17, caused the batting debacle.

Pak Gymkhana reached the winning target in only 17 overs losing one wicket after openers Asif Zakir (58 n.o.) and Amir Hanif (39) put on 80 runs for the first wicket.

A sparkling knock of 109 runs by Haris Jawed, enabled Hill Park CC register an easy 135-run victory over Khatri Sports in the Eighth Danish Trophy (Ramazan) cricket tournament played on Tuesday at the Hill Park Ground.

Hill Park CC raced to 243 for eight wickets in their 20 allotted overs with Haris plundering five sixes and eight boundaries. M. Zahid chipped in with 71 runs and Zafar Jadoon 28.

Ali Suleman was the most successful bowler for the fielding side, picking up two wickets for 28 runs.

Khatri Sports could only managed 108 in their allotted overs to lose by 135 runs.
