KARACHI, Oct 22: The progress of annual development programme 2003-04 of the health department was reviewed at a meeting on Wednesday.
The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Sindh Planning and Development Minister Shoaib Ahmed Bukhari, was informed that there were 19 schemes in the health sector ADP 2003-2004.
Out of these, three schemes after being approved by the departmental development working party’s meeting required the approval of the competent forum at provincial level.
The three schemes include extension of orthopaedic ward in Sindh Government Hospital, Liaquatabad; addition of 100 beds to Sindh Government Qatar Hospital, Orangi Town; and establishment of cardiac emergency centre at Sindh Government Hospital, Korangi No. 5.
The meeting was informed that the departmental development working party would consider some of the remaining schemes on Friday. These schemes include the establishment of new hospitals in Gulberg, Surjani Town, Site, Mehran Town Korangi, Jafar-i- Tayyar Society, Shah Faisal Colony, Allah Rakha Park Kharadar, and extension of existing RHC Baldia Town, Murad Memon, Pehalwan goth, and defunct KMC Hospital of Model Colony.
The provincial minister for planning and development, Shoaib Ahmed Bukhari, expressed serious concern over the delay in preparation of the schemes by the authorities concerned and called for immediate completion of these schemes. — APP
