KARACHI, Oct 7: A fine all-round performance enabled Karachi Port Trust (KPT) defeat Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) by five wickets in the DHA Trophy KCCA Inter-firms cricket tournament at UBL Sports Complex on Monday.

Iqbal slammed 42 with six fours and then took two for 33 to clinch the man of the match award.

Earlier, SSUET’s Qazi Nasar Abbas scored an enterprising 51 with eight hits to the fence.

In the second match, Sui Southern Gas Corporation (SSGC) beat Naveena Industries by eight wickets thanks to fine bowling by left-arm spinner Sohail Mehdi, who captured four for 17.

Pacer Saad Umar snapped up three for 30.
