KARACHI, Oct 7: Seven ships carrying crude oil, chemicals, and to load naphtha are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest as four ships, Flame, Astor, and Kota Wajar to unload and load containers and Iron-B to offload steel were berthed after the departure of as many.

The ships, which departed included Kota Peromas, Le Yi, Metaxata and Panos-G, while Kota Wajar, Bunga Terasak, Iron-B, APL Portugal and Flame are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 96,094 tons comprising 21,069 tons of export cargo and 75,025 tons of import tonnage was handled, which also 60,595 tons of oil.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Phenix, with 4,518 tons of sugar for Afghanistan, Shalamar, with 65,000 tons of crude oil, Chemroad Mega, with 2,500 tons of base oil, M.T. Eland, to load 2,500 tons of naphtha, Nur Yanbu, with 6,500 tons of chemicals, Hyundai Stride and Mariyah, with containers.
