LARKANA, Oct 4: The sanitary staff of the Warah taluka council on Saturday went on strike to protest against the nonpayment of their salaries.
The workers, led by Imdad Shaikh, also took out a procession that reached the Fazl Rahoo Chowk after marching through the main thoroughfares.
Speaking on the occasion, the protesters said they were not paid their salaries for the last three months. The workers also observed a hunger strike.
The taluka municipal officer reached the spot and urged the protestors to call off their strike but they said they would continue the protest till they were paid their salaries.
ACTIVISTS: The activists of the Asif Zardari Rihai Committee took out a rally from Kennedy Market on Friday.
Carrying banners and placards, they marched on the main roads of the city and demonstrated in front of the press club.
