HYDERABAD, Oct 4: Activists of the Pakistan Human Rights Foundation marched from GOR Colony to the press club here on Saturday to protest against increasing incidents of terrorism, excesses against peasants and human rights violations.

Speaking on the occasion, PHRF secretary-general Mehboob Sangi, Abdul Ghani Khoso, Jehangir Sarwar Sehro and others alleged that a man, Aejio Bheel, was falsely implicated in a theft case at the insistence of a local landlord in Kot Ghulam Mohammad. The said Mr Aejio later died of torture.

They said family members of Manoo Bheel were being held hostages by a feudal lord of Sanghar but the police and the local administration had done nothing to recover the people.

They also condemned the murder of journalist Amir Bux Brohi in Shikarpur.

The leaders of the organization urged the government to take steps to stop human rights violations in the province.

SU EXAMS: The controller of examinations, University of Sindh, announced here on Friday the schedule for bi-annual examination 2002 of BEd and MEd off-campus programme of the university.

The examination will be conducted from Oct 13 in the evening (3pm to 6pm).

The university has set up one examination center at the Dr N.A. Baloch Sindh University Model School, Hyderabad.

Concerned students have been advised to collect their admit cards from their respective area officers/supervisors and also to bring along their national identity cards.
