AL QUDS, Oct 1: The Israeli cabinet decided on Wednesday to build a series of fences deep in the heart of the West Bank but shelved plans to include the main Jewish settlement of Ariel within a larger separation barrier, sources said.

The decision came as ministers approved a new 100-million-dollar section of the barrier, which has been sharply criticized by the United States.—AFP
