PESHAWAR, Sept 26: A comprehensive health relief package will soon be presented before the assembly for approval, Provincial Health Minister Inayatullah Khan informs the NWFP Assembly.
Concluding the debate on the institutional-based private practice in government hospitals, the Health Minister assured members of the assembly on Friday that the package would be tabled some time during the current session.
He expressed optimism about the package’s approval by the provincial cabinet in its upcoming meeting.
The health minister said that the Health Regulatory Authority has been established to eliminate the unethical practice at the provincial metropolis’ biggest medical hub Dabgari.
Disputing the claim of some MPAs supporting the practice, he said that only Rs200 million were generated from it since its inception some three years ago, adding that if one included utility bills and other administrative charges, the income from the institution-based private practice was nil.—APP
