HYDERABAD, Sept 26: The adviser, Home Department, Aftab Ahmed Sheikh, has said that the management of the National Bank of Pakistan had agreed to offer loans to policemen of all ranks on easy instalments, and added that the police department also needed to establish benevolent funds.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the police ground late Thursday night at a prize-distribution ceremony among policemen who had shown outstanding performance by killing dacoits or arresting robbers.
He said that he had taken up the matter with the NBP president who had agreed to give loans by way of payment of 36-basic salaries to policemen provided the terms and conditions of the bank were met.
He said that he had asked the provincial police officer, Sindh, to establish benevolent funds in the department.
