HYDERABAD, Sept 19: The general secretary of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, Abdul Wahid Areesar, has rejected all water accords signed after 1945 saying that if all the people of Sindh were to unite on one platform against the anti-Sindh projects, the rulers would have to abandon the projects.

He was talking to journalists at the local press club on Thursday.

Answering a question about the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s stand on the Thal canal, he said that the Sindh governor was the representative of the Federation and the senior minister was basically a bureaucrat.

He said the JSQM did not give any weight to their statements. He, however, added that the MQM leadership stood with the JSQM on the water issue.

Answering another question about the recently held conference in Peshawar and the constitution of a front to launch a joint struggle against the Kalabagh dam and the greater Thal canal, Mr Areesar said that the JSQM had not been invited to attend the conference.
