Pound bows out

LONDON, Dec 21: Dick Pound, the Canadian lawyer who has been instrumental in turning the Olympics into a commercial success in the last two decades, has been replaced as the International Olympic Committee (IOC)’s marketing chief.

The IOC said in a statement Thursday that Norway’s Gerhard Heiberg would take over from Pound as chairman of the IOC’s marketing commission.—Reuters
