ISLAMABAD, Sept 13: Punjab government will provide free textbooks in schools from the next year to raise literacy rate in the province, provincial Education Minister Mian Imran Masood said on Saturday.

There are 63,119 schools in the province with the strength of 9 million students, he said, adding that about half of the students dropped out due to financial problems.—APP
