KARACHI, Sept 6: Coalition partners in Sindh showing solidarity with each other, made it clear that the province had registered substantial progress under their government, and wherever improvements were needed, they would be carried out in a spirit of accommodation and teamwork.
The expression of oneness came at a meeting attended by Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad, Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammad Mahar, and parliamentary leaders of the seven-party provincial coalition.
The governor, in his opening remarks, made it clear that he and the chief minister were part of a team and were on the same wavelength.
Reciprocating the sentiments expressed by the governor, the chief minister emphasized that governments took time to set- tle down, but the administration in Sindh had really made progress within the past eight months.
Every member of the cabinet, he said, and the bureaucracy under them was busy helping the people.
The police, and the rangers were doing their jobs honestly and with dedication.
The governor made it clear that incompetent or corrupt officers will not be tolerated. The government, he said, would not tolerate any incompetence, lethargy or lack of attention in the administration.
Members of the coalition partners, including Imtiaz Sheikh, Arbab Ghulam Rahim, Rahila Tiwana denied reports regarding differences in the cabinet.
MQM ministers Rauf Siddiqi, Shoaib Bukhari, Syed Sardar Ahmad, Aftab Sheikh, Salahuddin Haider, Nauman Saigal also spoke on the occasion.
The meeting was attended, among others, by the IG Sindh, the Home Secretary and the DG rangers.
