LAHORE, July 22: Indus is in low flood at Tarberla, Kalabagh, Chashma, Taunsa, Guddu and Sukkur with thunderstorm/rain forecast at its upper and lower catchment areas for next 24 hours which may lead to further rise in water level at these points.
According to a Flood forecasting division report, Ravi is in low flood at Shahdara and Balloki. Chenab at Khanki is also in low flood while local nullahas in Gujranwala region are in medium flood, but their level is going down.
The other rivers are flowing normal at all points.
Widespread rain of light to moderate intensity with heavy falls was reported over Faisalabad, Sargodha and Lahore regions during last 24 hours.
The Flood forecasting division has forecast light to moderate rain at few places over the upper catchments of all the major rivers along with northern, northeastern and central Punjab as well as over northeastern and southern Balochistan.
Isolated rain of light to moderate intensity is likely to occur over Sindh and southern Punjab along with Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat and DI Khan regions.—APP
