KARACHI, July 15: The ministers and prominent leaders from the ruling coalition met with the Sindh Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammad Maher, on Tuesday, an official statement said.
It said that political affairs in the province and other matters were discussed at the meeting held at the Chief Minister’s House.
Development projects in Sindh as well as inter-provincial problems were discussed at the meeting.
The CM said on the occasion that the interests of the province would be protected and national cohesion and stability would be stressed.
The meeting also determined a strategy for popularizing the message of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah.
It also discussed the proposed public meeting of Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali.
Those who met with the Chief Minister were Syed Shoaib Ahmed Bhukari of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Aftab Shaikh, Adviser on Home Affairs, Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi, president of the National Alliance, Sindh, Irfanullah Khan Marwat, Dr Saeeda Malik, Arif Mustafa Jatoi, MPA, Mr Gulzar Unar, MPA, Ms Naila Inam, MNA, Dr Ibrahim Jatoi.
SINDH HERITAGE: Mr Mahar on Tuesday said that preservation of historical and cultural sites and arts and crafts of the province was the joint responsibility of the government, cultural institutions and the people.
Talking to chief executive of the Heritage Foundation, Ms Yasmeen Lari, the CM said Moenjodaro, Bhanbhor, Makli, Rani Kot, Goth Deji, Amri, Sehwan, Khudabad and such other historical sites were symbols of glory of Sindh and there was need of joint efforts to preserve these sites.
He said that Mehran was land of artists and craftsman, and Ajrak, Jandi, Khes and such other items from the area were popular around the world.
LAW AND ORDER: The Sindh chief minister has said that the present government accords priority to the maintenance of law and order and the ‘15’ police ‘madadgar’ centres are being set up in every district headquarter in the province.
In a meeting with the director general, National Logistics Cell, Maj gen Khalid Zahir Akhtar, he said that comprehensive measures would be undertaken for the protection of lives and property of the people.—APP/PPI
